DJ Spinatik Street Runnaz 52

DJ Spinatik mixtapes are well known for having some of the hottest and newest down south hip-hop available. Spinatik's popular Street Runnaz series is just what this is all about: Bringing the fans the newest and most exclusive back-to-back bangers, while eliminating the filler that comes with alot of weaker mixtapes.

The brand new volume in the series is Street Runnaz 52, which features spankin brand new material from the kings of the down south rap game. New tracks are here from Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Yo Gotti, Lil Boosie, Waka Flocka, Plies, Ace Hood, Bun B, and more. The standout track is "Where You From", which pairs Rick Ross with the street beast Project Pat for a vicious street banger. If you have not checked out this Street Runnaz series before, definitely get on it. It will not disappoint.

Brick Squad Bethren mixtape

Ever since Gucci Mane's So Icy Records and Brick Squad cohorts burst on the scene, they have been getting hotter and hotter. As rap fans grow more familiar with Waka Flocka Flame, OJ Da Juiceman, Wooh Da Kid, and Frenchie, their popularity grows. The team has done massive promo through their mixtapes, and they seem to drop new material every week.

The newest mixtape from the So Icy/Brick Squad team is called Brick Squad Brethren. This one features all of the absolute newest material from Waka Flocka, Frenchie, and Wooh Da Kid. New tracks include "No Hands", "All I Got", "Young Money Brick Squad", "Getting It In", "So Tired", "Mad At Me", and tons more. The Brick Squad boys have really done a great job of capturing the streets with their pounding beats and gritty lyrics.

Young Jeezy The Last Laugh Official Mixtape

Young Jeezy mixtapes are some of my personal favorites. Jeezy always comes hard and his mixtapes have consistently been some of the hottest out. The original Trap Or Die remains one of my favorite mixtapes of all time. Every time I throw it on I lose my mind a little more, and I am ready to hit the streets!

The brand new official Young Jeezy mixtape is called The Last Laugh. It is all brand new tracks from your boy The Snowman. New heaters include Last Laugh, Game Over, Handle My Bizness, Rap Game, Amen, Do It All Again, and more. I personally can't wait to hear this one. I already know it's gonna blow me away. Now if the damn album Thug Motivation 103 would drop already! I'm tired of waiting...

Lil Wayne No Ceilings No Walls 4

Lil Wayne's brand new mixtape, "No Ceilings No Walls 4", is now available for pre-order, and this one is gonna sell out quick! Featuring all of the absolute newest Lil Wayne joints, this No Ceilings series has just been one bangin disc after another. New tracks include:

Lil Wayne has consistently just killed with his flawless mixtape game and this stands to be another classic to add to the never-ending discography...

Game You Know What It Is Vol.3

Game mixtapes are always bangers. Game has an East Coast storytelling feel to his raps, yet he is a West Coast rapper who raps on super hard West Coast beats. He reminds me of Nas and Jadakiss, as he colorfully paints pictures of what he's saying, whether it be bandannas, females, tattoos, whatever.

One of his most outstanding and well-known mixtapes has to be DJ Skee You Know What It Is Vol.3. This mixtape gained notoriety off of the insane (and best) track on here, the 15-minute long "300 Bars N Runnin". This mixtape dropped right at the time of the beef with G-Unit, when Game was going hard at 50 and co., and this song just murders em. The beat consistentlt switches, going from various different West Coast new and old beats, including Dre, Snoop, Nas, Jay-Z, everybody. Game never misses a beat, and with no hook he spits straight fire over the constantly changing beat. If you've never heard this, you need to. This is the reason why I love hip-hop like I do. When skills like this are shown, the world freezes for a moment. Crazy.

Chamillionaire Mixtape Messiah 6

Chamillionaire mixtapes are the lifeblood behind his career, specifically the "Mixtape Messiah" series. I used to not even listen to him, and one day I heard one of them and slowly started to pick up all of his stuff. He is a fantastic rapper and in my top five for the past few years. The Mixtape Messiah cds are just unbelievable. Chamil goes hard over everyone else's beats, and honestly does the majority better than the actual original artists did them.

The Mixtape Messiah 6 is a standout one. The best track has Chamil rapping over one of my favorite songs ever, the classic "One Day They're Here" by UGK. I would like to recommend other songs, but honestly they are all great. He puts so much heart and emotion into making these cds that they simply have to be heard. Check them out.

Welcome To Atlanta

New rap mixtapes are always a great thing. It is nice to beat everyone else to the newest and hottest material from the biggest artists in the game. Also, the mixtape material is always the freshest, and it is usually alot more uncut and raw than the stuff that you hear on the same artists actual album.

The newest rap mixtape is "Welcome To Atlanta". This one features all new music from Atlanta's Finest rappers. New joints from T.I., Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, Waka Flocka Flame, Ludacris, Young Dro, OJ Da Juiceman, Lil Scrappy and more are layered back to back. Standout tracks include T.I.'s brand new "Yep That's Me", Gucci Mane's "Weirdo", Jeezy's "Dope Boy Swag", and Ludacris' "Tongues". Cop this one and throw it right in the whip. You won't be disappointed...

DJ Keyz Dipset Gangland Part 17

Diplomats mixtapes are the reason why Dipset blew up and took over the New York (and international) hip-hop game. Mixtapes were the vehicle that Dipset used to get their name around and to build their buzz for their albums and the artists that were at that time not yet known (Juelz Santana, Jimmy Jones, Hell Rell, JR Writer).

The newest Diplomats mixtape is DJ Keyz Gangland Part 17. This one features all of the newest material from Cam'ron, Jim Jones, Hell Rell, and company. The new tracks featuring Jim and Cam back together after their extended break-up are so nice to hear, and they are really great songs too. New tracks include "Wanna Get", "Toast" (over Kanye's beat), "Fairytale", "We All Up In Here", "Looking Like Money", "So Crazy", and more. 31 tracks in total. It's Dip, Dip, Dip-set!!!!

DJ 2Mello Summer Breeze 7

DJ 2Mello mixtapes are some of the absolute best RnB mixtapes in the game. 2Mello takes his time with each, and carefully crafts them to perfection, as if each were his child. He does different series, some are new RnB and some are classic, old-school RnB.

His Summer Breeze series is one of his most popular old-school series. The newest installment in this series is Summer Breeze 7. This mixtape features classic tracks from Barry White, Jodeci, Sade, Tony Toni Tone, Marvin Gay, Bill Withers, Al Green, The Stylistics, and more. These are perfect mixtapes for romantic times with the one you love.

DJ Keyz TI Bun B Corna Boyz 11 Mixtape

DJ Keyz mixtapes are some of my favorites. They are always good, and the ones he does with specific artists (such as the classic "All Screwed Up" with Bun B or the "Best Of Ludacris" with Luda) have shown his skills and diversity and ability to bring the hottest and hardest-to-find tracks together in one place.

His newest mixtape features TI and Bun B, titled "Corna Boyz 11". It features the absolute newest and hottest from both artists. I personally really like the pairing of TI and Bun B on the same mixtape. TI is that new school king, while Bun B is the reigning old-school king. New tracks include "Pledge Allegiance To The Swag", "Miss Me", "Freeze Me", "What Up", "Stop The Party", "Get Big", and many more. With 29 tracks in total, how can you possibly go wrong?

Evil Empire Tapemasters Inc Power Part 2 Mixtape

A few weeks ago, Evil Empire and Tapemasters Inc. dropped an East Coast mixtape called "Power". It featured all new East Coast exclusives from all the New York heavy hitters. Evil Empire mixtapes are always known to have the freshest East Coast jams available.

They now follow up the first one with a second volume, titled "Power Part 2". This new installment features all new music from Cam'ron, Jim Jones, Lil Wayne and Drake, Styles P, Vado, Nas, Lloyd Banks, 50 Cent, Jadakiss, Fabolous, Sheek Louch, Raekwon, Kanye West, Joell Ortiz, Maino and more. If you are looking for a good dose of the freshest hip-hop that the East Coast has to offer, this is your fix.

DJ Envy Down And Dirty RB 36

DJ Envy always has hot mixtapes. His popular series "Down And Dirty RnB" features all of the newest collabos between the hottest RnB artists as well as the biggest rappers of today. I have always loved these collabos, as there is just something perfectly matching about these mixups, like Jadakiss and Mary J on that old "How Do You Want It" beat. It just goes well. Smooth.

This brand new volume, Down And Dirty RnB 36, features new collabos with:
Ne-Yo and Fabolous
Will.i.am and Nicki Minaj
Jennifer Lopez and Rick Ross
Trey Songz and Drake
Mary J Blige
Bruno Mars and Lupe Fiasco
50 Cent and Jerimih

This series is nice because it has no filler. You can just pop it in the stereo and ride to it without skipping wack-ass tracks. These are perfect for the Sunday afternoon drive on a nice day.

DJ White Owl Drop That 137 mixtape

DJ White Owl mixtapes always feature the absolute newest and hottest tracks. The "Drop That" series has become widely known for bringing cutting-edge songs from East Coast, West Coast, and Down South's hottest artists.

The brand new volume, just dropping today, is Drop That 137. This crazy mixtape features new tracks from everybody: Lil Wayne, Drake, Styles P, Sheek Louch, Jim Jones, Maino, Fat Joe, NORE, Cam'ron, Juelz Santana, Vado, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Game, French Montana, Kanye, and more. These songs are the newest of the new, and they are on this mixtape before any others. What are you waiting for?

DJ Keyz Young Money Gangland 16

DJ Keyz mixtapes are always great sellers. His latest most popular series is called "Gangland", done with different teams. One is with D-Block, one with G-Unit, one with Dipset, and one with Young Money. There have been around 4 volumes of each, and each one has been better than the last.

The newest Young Money mixtape is Gangland 16, which dropped today. It features all of the brand new tracks from Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Drake, Gudda Gudda, Mack Maine and Lil Twist. New trackls include "Monster", "Put It Down", "Haterade", "Ice Cream Man", "In My Business", and "Go Ahead Baby", as well as plenty more. With 31 tracks total, you can't lose with this one.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Tapemasters Inc DJ Envy Purple Codeine 31

Tapemasters Inc and DJ Envy have a long-running Down South mixtape series called "Purple Codeine", where they feature the newest exclusive tracks. Past volumes have sold out super quick and people regularly look for the older ones.

This bring us to the newest volume in this series, Purple Codeine 31. This spankin' new volume features worldwide exclusives from Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, Pimp C, Plies, Bun B, and more. The Pimp C track "Midnight Hoes" is excellent and it features a brand new verse from Pimp as well as a new hook. It really makes you miss having Pimp around. Rap just isn't the same without him. The Rick Ross exclusive "Bust Your Heart" is a great song about just ruining every girl that you're with. The whole cd is super strong.

DJ EFX Got Videos 10

DJ EFX mixtapes are great, but in the past few years he has really become known for his hip-hop video Dvds. The series is called "Got Videos?", and every volume is packed with all of the newest and hottest videos, all in perfect crystal-clear quality.

The newest of this series is Got Videos? Vol.10, for Fall 2010. It features new videos such as:
"Miss Me"-Drake and Lil Wayne'
"Power"-Kanye West
"Makin Love To The Money"-Gucci Mane
"Speakin Tongues"-Camron and Vado
"BMF"-Rick Ross
"Lose My Mind"-Young Jeezy and Plies
"Find Your Love"-Drake
"Your Love"-Nicki Minaj
"Got Your Back"-T.I. feat Keri Hilson

33 Full-length videos altogether. Definitely check it out. The entire series has been great.

Nicki Minaj Nikita Mixtape

Nicki Minaj popped out of nowhere and filled a spot that was long empty in the hip-hop game, the spot for queen of hip-hop. Lil' Kim was having problems, Foxy was in jail, Remy was in jail, and the spot was open for someone new to step in and take over.

Enter Nicki Minaj. Coming out with Lil' Wayne and the Young Money crew (though occasionally doing mixtapes with So Icy also) Nicki Minaj made her name and goals quickly known. When the girls got a hold of her Nicki Minaj mixtapes, it was a wrap. They had a new hero, someone they could adulate and look up to.

Nicki Minaj's newest mixtape is titled "Nikita". It features all of her newest tracks, including "Cupids Got A Gun" with Shanell, "Check It Out" with will.i.am, "Dutty Dutty" with Rick Ross, "Monster" with Ross Kanye and Jay-Z, "Bottoms Up", "Your Love" and many more. The crazy thing is her debut album has not even dropped yet and her buzz is astronomical.

Lil Wayne I'm Almost Home Mixtape

Lil Wayne has been in Rikers Island jail for awhile now. As you already know, Lil Wayne Mixtapes are some of the top-selling, most consistent and solid mixtapes in the game. Since he has been away, they obviously have not dropped with near the regularity that they did when he was free. However, one still does drop from time to time.

Enter Lil Wayne's newest mixtape, titled "I'm Almost Home". This brand new joint features 20 tracks, just as a warm-up to welcome Weezy F Baby back home to freedom. Included is "Right Above It" with Drake, "Yeah" with T.I., "Everything Red" with Game and Birdman, "Cascades", "On The Wall" with Brisco, "Fresh I Stay" with Flo-Rida, and more. I am really hoping that Wayne comes home and gets on his old shit, the pre-alternative, rock-n-roll drug weirdo shit, and instead gets back on some Dedication 2-super spitter-hard as nails type shit. I guess we'll see. In the meantime, this mixtape will definitely fill the gap left by his absence.

DJ Haze and The Syndicate LA Times 2

West Coast mixtapes don't drop nearly as often and East and South. When they do, they are a breath of fresh air to hear something a little different. The beats are always knockin, and the artists lean a little more towards gangbangin and street tales than their East/South counterparts.

The newest West Coast mixtape is DJ Haze The Syndicate LA Times Part 2. This best-of-the-new-West mixtape features smokin new tracks from Game with Akon and Nas (song is called Street Riders-certified banger), Nipsey Hussle (if you're notfamiliar-Get familiar), Juice, Big Fase 100, Glasses Malone, Snoop Dogg, Chino XL, and more. Most people are the least familiar with the West Coast stuff. They have always had the best beats, and they keep it real fresh.

DJ White Owl Drop That 136

DJ White Owl Drop That 136 is a fresh mixtape. I threw this one on last night on a long drive and it was really good. As usual, it contains nothing but the newest, hottest tracks. This one has new jams from Cam and Jim Jones, Kanye West, The Clipse, Lil Wayne, Vado, Lloyd Banks, Rick Ross and more. All DJ White Owl mixtapes have always been strong.

The standout track on here, the one I listened to over and over is Camron and Jim Jones "Runaway" dissin Kanye West. It is so nice to hear Cam and Jim back on the same track, and they really kill it. Cam is mad at Kanye for dissin Dame Dash, and him and Jim go hard over a Kanye beat. I really hope that this is a taste of what's to come from a new, reformed Dipset. It is long overdue.

Beanie Sigel Scarface Mac And Brad Mixtape

Beanie Sigel is known for being one of the rawest artists in the game. In and out of prison, the Philly street thug was found buy Jay-Z and quickly came into fame. Scarface, on the other hand, is a classic rapper and has been around for decades, yet he has never lost an ounce of his street credibility. While Beanie Sigel mixtapes abound, Scarface only dropped one official to date (last years Dopeman Music).

Enter DJ Omen's mixtape "Mac And Brad". This fantastic pairing of the two gives you back to back roughness straight through. Tracks include Forgot About Me, Emeritus, Cypher, Mom Praying, Face Off, Southside, This Can't Be Life, etc. And of course the classic track "Mac And Brad" where Beans and Scarface trade line for line over a sparse beat. This is a good one for a long drive.

Styles P Green Lantern The Green Ghost Project

Any of you who are familiar with Styles P mixtapes already know how good they are. Styles is a tru lyricist, and it isn't hard to tell that he really takes his time crafting his songs. He puts his heart into every line and that emotion comes through on all the tracks. Though Styles P has had many mixtapes over the past few years, there are a few that really stand out. One of these is the Green Ghost Project that he did with famed New York DJ Green Lantern.

The Green Ghost Project was a much anticipated mixtape. Even the cover came out months before and had people fiending for it. I recieved countless emails as to when it was going to drop. Once it came out, it was easy to see what all the hype was about. Every track was brand new, and the combination of Green Lantern's DJ/production skills with Styles' vicious flows made for one of the best mixtapes in a long time. Standout tracks were Send A Kite, about being in prison and support from the outside, and Time Will Tell (with Raekwon) where the two of them just murder the track, East Coast style. Definitely one to check out.

DJ Famous R&B mixtape series

DJ Famous has been around for a long time. He drops consistently strong mixtapes, specifically his "Famous RnB" series. Many people who barely know any DJ's at all know DJ Famous, just off the strength of his name and reputation.

His newest volume in the RnB series is "Famous RnB 80". This newest RnB mixtape features all the smooth and hit new RnB tracks in the country. Exclusives from the likes of Chris Brown, Lloyd, The Dream, Dondria, Trey Songz, Keri Hilson, Usher, Next, Donnel Jones, Sean Garrett, Faith Evans, Bobby Valentino, and many more. This is like a best of the best hitlist for RnB superstars. Check one of them out. You will for sure become a fan.

DJ White Owl Drop That 135

One of my bestselling mixtape series of all time is DJ White Owl's long-running "Drop That" series. This series features the newest of the new, absolute exclusives from East West and South. Who knows how White Owl gets these, but he always has the absolute cutting-edge material.

His newest volume is Drop That 135. This newest chronicle features brand new exclusives from Fabolous, Lloyd Banks, French Montana, Fat Joe, Lil' Wayne, Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel, Sheek, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Maino, and tons more. All on one mixtape? Yeah, check these out. I listen to every one that drops and they are always great.

DJ Delz Wiz Khalifa J.Cole Street Spittas mixtape

DJ Delz mixtapes are always good, and DJ Delz is a great DJ. His Jackin For Beats series was phenomenal. They were mixtapes of all the freestyles over other peoples beats that each artist did. He did one with Max B, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Trey Songz, Slaughterhouse, Drake, and more. The Ross one blew me away especially. Every single track was dynamite. Definitely one to pick up if you like Rick Ross.

His newest mixtape is Wiz Khalifa & J.Cole "Street Spittas" , which features all new music from both the up-and-comers. New tracks include The One, Too Late, Who Dat, Statement, No Holding Back, Bun B For President, Holding Back, and many more. Wiz Khalifa has really grown in popularity lately, and this mixtape should help get his buzz growing stronger than ever.

The Empire Southern Slang 17 mixtape

The Empire mixtapes are always good. They are always full of brand new southern exclusives from all the biggest and best rap artists. Through the various mixtapes series The Empire has dropped over the past few years, the cds have gotten consistently better and better.

That brings us to his new one, Southern Slang 17. This brand new mixtape is filled to the brim with new exclusives from Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Lil' Boosie, T.I., Yo Gotti, Plies, The Game, Young Buck, Waka Flocka and more. You wanna have the newest jams long before everyone else, so that your friends say, "where the hell did you get that"? What are you waiting for?

New Young Jeezy mixtape

Young Jeezy has a brand new mixtape titled "Official White Label-Blue Edition", which features all unreleased material and some new exclusives as well. You already know Jeezy comes hard on whatever he does, and he really seems to save his best heat for the mixtapes. After Trap Or Die 1 and 2, Trappin Aint Dead, Snowstorm 1, 1,000 Grams, Can't Ban The Snowman, and I Am The Street Dream, there should be no question left about his mixtape skills.

New tracks on this new Young Jeezy mixtape include Let's Work, The World Is Ours, Jizzle (with Lil' Jon), a new remix of Killer, and more. These White Label cds are always great front to back, and I am looking forward to hearing this. Maybe Jeezy's album will drop one of these days. I'm not holding my breath.

New Gucci Mane mixtape

Gucci Mane has a brand new mixtape of all unreleased tracks, called "Official White Label-Blue Edition". This mixtape is full of all new exclusives. These white label cds are always crazy hot. This mixtape features new songs like I Gots Dat, Dangers Not A Stranger, Love Me, Trap Talk, Bachelor Pad, and more.

With over 25 tracks, this one is a definite banger. Also on the way is the new DJ Drama and Gucci Mane "Ferrari Music" mixtape. This one, done with DJ Drama, should be a classic. It is available for pre-order now. Gucci has been on his grind since leaving jail, and he is dropping more and more mixtapes.

DJ Whoo Kid mixtapes

DJ Whoo Kid mixtapes are some of the best known mixtapes out here. DJ Whoo Kid is 50 Cent and G-Unit's personal DJ, and he is responsible for creating the original G-Unit Radio series, as well as the first slew of G-Unit mixtapes that dropped when they first came on the scene. His mixtapes helped them to build their name and to grow into the mega-selling monster that they became.

The first three mixtapes that DJ Whoo Kid dropped with G-Unit were No Mercy No Fear, 50 Cent Is The Future, and God's Plan. Each one featured new tracks with 50 and co. rapping over other rappers' beats and laying them to waste. One of my favorite tracks of all time was their remake of Biggie and Puff's "Victory". These three are all classics and take you back to a time when 50 Cent was broke and hungry for the fame, and he was at the top of his game.

Big Mike mixtapes

DJ Big Mike mixtapes have been around for a long time. Big Mike is a well-known East Coast DJ who specializes in exclusive hip-hop, alot of it being East Coast material. His old mixtape series "The Big Boy Game" really established him as one of the game's best, and since then he has solidified that position with hundreds of classic mixtapes, ranging from hip-hop & R&B to official mixtapes with Styles P, Sheek and French Montana.

Big Mike's newest mixtape, Follow The Leaders 8, features new exclusives from Cam'ron, Vado, Jeezy, Rick Ross, Styles P, Sheek, Cassidy, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Eminem, French Montana, Gucci Mane and more. Big Mike is one DJ who really tries to avoid filler and instead makes the mixtapes be full of great songs from beginning to end, so that you don't have to skip around. If you're unfamiliar with Big Mike or haven't heard his new joints, definitely pick one up.

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Young Buck mixtapes

Young Buck mixtapes are always raw. Ever since Buck first came out with G-Unit, he showed himself to be a true street cat, and his rhymes have always reflected this. Though he has not had any real huge commercial success in years, Young Buck continues to drop exclusive heat for the streets on his mixtapes.

The best Buck mixtape of the past few years was hands down was the "Back On My Buck Shit"mixtape with DJ Smallz and DJ Scream. On this one, Buck actually went into the studio with them to create an entire new mixtape, almost like an album. The entire cd is hard. Standout tracks include "Did You Miss Me", "Real Nigga Thoughts", "30 Birds", and "Bag It Up" with Yo Gotti.

Wu-Tang Clan mixtapes

Wu-Tang Clan mixtapes are not as easy to find as say Lil Wayne or Gucci Mane mixtapes. Wu-Tang dropped various mixtapes over their long career in hip-hop, but none were better than the ones they did with well-known New York DJ J-Love.

This well-known East Coast mixtape series, titled "Return Of The Swarm", has six volumes to it (the newest dropping just a couple months ago). All these feature various exclusives, freestyles, and street bangers with Wu-Tang together as a unit and also individual cuts from all the members, including Raekwon, Method Man, Ghostface, Rza, Gza, and Inspectah Deck. Every volume is packed with unheard gems, even a few from ODB himself (R.I.P.) If you're a fan of the Wu-Tang Clan, definitely check this series out. You'll be impressed.

Game mixtapes

One of the artists who really used mixtapes to his advantage and to prove who he was is Game. Almost ten years ago, Game came out of nowhere with a few Game mixtapes with Cutmaster C titled "Welcome To Compton". This was even before his deal with 50 Cent. At this time, Game was beefing with Joe Buddens and was rapping diss tracks over other rappers beats. These mixtapes showed the world the talent that Game possessed as a lyricist.

Of Game's newest mixtapes, the Brake Lights mixtape with DJ Skee was the best. Game is a West Coast rapper with a real East Coast feel, like how Nas used to be, painting vivid pictures of tattoos and red rags and Lambos, where you can really see what he is spitting. This is a gift that many rappers do not have and Game is one who luckily does.

Yo Gotti Mixtapes

Yo Gotti has been working hard to build a career off of his Yo Gotti mixtapes for a long while now. He came from Memphis (home of pioneers Three-Six Mafia) and in the past few years blew up in the rap scene. He has done memorable mixtapes with DJ Drama, DJ 31 Degreez, Big Mike, and others.

His newest hip-hop mixtape is called "Street Pharmacy". It features all his new tracks and includes "Done It All" with Lil Boosie, "Momma", "Pharmacy", and the classic "Bang Yo City"with Rick Ross, Wacka Flocka Flame and NORE. A couple months ago Yo Gotti also dropped another great mixtape, this one with DJ Drama, called "Cocaine Muzik 4.5", as part of his super popular Cocaine Muzik series that the has done with various DJ's.

New Lil Wayne mixtape

Lil Wayne mixtapes are easily the strongest and most consistent mixtapes in the game. Lil Wayne really takes his time with every verse and track and it shows through in his work. He is currently serving time in NYC at Riker's Island Prison, and is due to be released very soon.

The newest of Lil Wayne's mixtapes is titled "Don't Crucify Me". It features brand new hit "Cascades", as well as new smash with Drake "Right Above It". Other standouts include "I'm Not A Human Being", "Shades" with Diddy and Justin Timberlake, "the amazing "Girl Like Her", and the brand new "Heavenly Father" with Fat Joe. Get this one for your Lil Wayne collection. Many more to come...

New Rick Ross Mixtape Walking On Water

Rick Ross mixtapes are always strong. They usually contain very little filler and instead are full of great verses and great songs. Ross has dropped many mixtapes over the past few years and I have never heard a weak one.

The newest Rick Ross mixtape is titled Walking On Water. It features a ton of new exclusives, including "Where You From", "Jumping Out The Gym", "Thumbs Up", "Walking On Water", "Paid The Cost", and many more. Many people ask if Ross truly was a Corrections Officer. Most rappers lie about what they have done in the past. If you listen to Ross truly as a rapper, he is one of the best in the game right now. I have never heard him spit one weak verse.

La Coka Nostra

La Coka Nostra is a supergroup which was underground for many years until they recently dropped their first album. They lived through the mixtapes until recently dropping "A Brand You Can Trust", their first full-length cd. The group consists of Ill Bill, Everlast, Slaine, DJ Lethal, and Danny Boy. This is hard-ass white boy rap at it's finest. If you're unfamiliar with Ill Bill, check him out. Every cd he has is great. Aside from the original 3 members of House Of Pain, Slaine is a rhymer from Boston's underground mixtape circuit.

The album is long overdue and very well done. Standout tracks are "Fuck Tony Montana", "This Is Coke", and my favorite, "Soldiers Story". Beats are knocking all the way through and you can really tell that they took their time to create this masterpiece. Get down or lay down....

Vinnie Paz

Vinnie Paz is the main vocalist for underground hip-hop group Jedi Mind Tricks. They are from Philly and have many great albums. Vinnie Paz has a gruff voice and a hard lyrical delivery. Standout albums from Jedi Mind Tricks are "Violent By Design" and "A History Of Violence". While they've never been much on the mixtape circuit, they do occasionally drop the odd gem here and there.

Vinnie Paz recently dropped an album called "Season Of The Assassin". It is one of the best cds I've heard this year. Hard, loud, tons of guests including Paul Wall, Freeway, Beanie Sigel, and many more. Definitely one to pick up. The song "Pistolvania" is worth the cost of admission alone. Definitely one for the gym and the weight rack. Hopefully we will see some of Vinnie Paz on the mixtapes soon.

Wiz Khalifa Black and Yellow mixtape

Wiz Khalifa is an up and coming artist who has made a big buzz in Pittsburgh, PA where he's from. He dropped tons of mixtapes and had to work really hard to get a name for himself, as Pittsburgh is not the easiest city to make it big in music in. Various local newspapers and magazines did interviews and stories on Wiz, but I knew he had made it when I saw him on the cover of XXL.

The newest Wiz Khalifa mixtape titled "Black And Yellow" follows on the path that made him famous. Wiz jumps on the "Bottoms Up" remix with Trey Songz and Gucci Mane. New track Not Ready with French Montana is a certified banger, and collabo with Pittsburgh up-and-comer Mac Miller should have the streets buzzing. Definitely keep an eye out for Wiz Khalifa.

French Montana Coke Boys

French Montana has been working hard for years now. He started off with his Dvd series "Cocaine City", and he slowly built a rap career which took him to signing a huge deal with Akon's Konvict Music. French has consistently grown and improved as a rapper, and he has dropped some incredible mixtapes along the way. I absolutely loved the Laundry Man 1 and 2, both with my man Evil Empire. The song "Can't Shake The Game" and "Slow Down" are two of my top picks from French.

His new mixtape with DJ Drama, DJ Lust, and DJ Diggz called Coke Boyz is all brand new exclusives. After the last banger Mac Wit The Cheese 2, this one should not disappoint. I am super excited to hear it. It has features from Three Six Mafia, Akon, Waka Flocka Flame, Masspike Miles, and Chinx Drugs. I will have a review posted as soon as I hear it. They are currently up for pre-order and will be shipping within a couple days.

DJ Cashis Kay mixtapes

DJ Cashis Kay is a mixtape DJ best known for his work with blend mixtapes. If you're unfamiliar, blends are when a DJ takes either a rappers verse and puts it over a different beat (could be a hip-hop beat, R&B, Reggae, whatever) or when a DJ throws two different rappers verses on the same song, or some chop-up of those. Many people are big fans of blends, as they offer something fresh and completely new.

DJ Cashis Kay has a fantastic series called "Blends For That Ass", volumes 1-10. Volume 10 just dropped last week, and brings you more of the absolute top blends in the business. Brand new and hot rap songs are flawlessly blended with various other jams, freestyles, and R&B joints to make for an unforgettable mixtape experience. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Jay-Z Creative Control

Jay-Z is an artist who, at his current level of success, has no need to drop a mixtape. Between his clothing line, merchandise, clubs he owns, and various other business lines, as well as multi-platinum record sales, he is not hurting for buzz or cash. Still, Hova is an artist first, and so he occasionally hits the streets with something new.

Enter DJ Green Lantern, one of the best and most original mixtapes DJ's in the hip-hop game. They recently got together and dropped a new mixtape called "Creative Control", full of all brand new tracks and verses. This is not something easy to come by. Jay barely even drops mixtape verses anymore, much less a whole cd of new material. Need I say more?

Hell Rell mixtapes

Hell Rell is one member of the Diplomats crew and by far the most street. He was first featured rapping over the phone from jail on the Dipset album "Diplomatic Immunity Part 1", where he simply came in and stole the show with a grimy-ass jailhouse verse. Since then, he has dropped a bunch of great mixtapes as a solo artist. He has also been featured throughout most every Dipset mixtape that has dropped, too.

Hell Rell's best mixtape hands-down was "Streets Wanna Know", which dropped a few years back. This one featured Juelz Santana, J.R. Writer, and .40 Cal, and was exactly what you've come to expect from Hell Rell: street rhymes over street beats. Standout tracks are "Rap Sheet", "Shoot To Kill", and "Y'all Don't Want War".

A Mafia Mixtapes

Of the entire Dipset camp, who dropped tons of mixtapes over the past few years, one of the standout artists and the rawest in the crew is my man A-Mafia. A-Mafia was featured on the various official Diplomats Vol.1-5 mixtapes, and he never spit a weak verse. The first time I heard him was on Jim Jones' "Ryder Muzik" mixtape and he killed his verse over an Italian mob-type beat. A-Mafia always spits hard.

I was just listening to his new track off of DJ White Owl's "Drop That 134", and it was as hard as ever. His best mixtape he has dropped was DJ Diggz and Care Bears, titled "Free A-Mafia". This was 38 tracks of street heat. A-Mafia has a real noticeable and memorable flow, and hopefully we will get an album from him sometime soon.

DJ Envy Tapemasters Inc. Purple Codeine 31

DJ Envy and Tapemasters Inc. have been making their "Purple Codeine" series for awhile now, and each mixtape seems to get better than the last. They are full of brand new down south exclusives, and I mean exclusives. Cutting edge material, and none of the filler that you get on certain other mixtapes where the first couple tracks are new and then you get 20 more that are old.

This new volume features smokin new tracks from Gucci, Rick Ross, Yo Gotti, Pimp C (???), T.I., Plies, B.G., Bun B, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Young Dro and more. This is definitely one to pick up, as they sell out quick. I myself can't wait to hear the Pimp C track, as it's been way too long since his death and some new stuff from him.

Dipset Forever Part 3

DJ Messiah has dropped two mixtapes in his "Dipset Forever" series, and this week he drops the newest addition. We all miss the Diplomats together as one unit, as they were a few years ago when they were just taking over the game. This new mixtape brings back a little of that. Featuring the new hit "Salute", Cam Jones & Snoop on "Yo Momma On Ya", Jones & Cam on "Show Out", and a bunch more other new tracks, this brings back that Dipset heat. It's so nice to hear (after what seemed like so long) Cam and Jim on a track together again. It's like old family members squashing a beef. Hopefully we can expect an official Dipset mixtape to drop sometime soon from Duke Da God and the camp. We will just have to wait and see.

Plies DJ Scream You Need People Like Me

Plies and DJ Scream have a new mixtape that is dropping in a few days. It is "You Need People Like Me". Plies has dropped quite a few mixtapes in the past couple years, but this is the first official one in some time. Plies actually dropped his official debut mixtape, "The Truth Hurts" with DJ Scream three years ago.

This new mixtape is all brand new material, and seems to have a Scarface theme to it. New tracks include Really From The Hood, All Out, Do Ya Thing, Why Ya Hate, Come By Yo House, and more. Plies mixtapes always sell really fast, so definitely pick this one up while they're still in stock.

Mixtapes are the best

I have always loved albums. That is no question. Every time an album drops by an rapper I like, I go pick it up. However, many times I am let down, as there is a lot of filler, too many club-type jams, etc. With mixtapes it is a different story. Mixtapes very rarely let me down. Whatever mixtape it is I'm checking out, I always know I'm gonna hear some raw, uncut hip-hop and some brand new exclusives.

For instance, when Lil' Wayne dropped mixtape after mixtape a couple summers ago, he was just killing. He had everyone fiending for the Carter 3. It dropped and it was weak as hell. He should have put out one of the mixtapes as the damn Carter 3.

Joell Ortiz

Joell Ortiz is a New York rapper who has been working hard to build a following and achieve some commercial success in a time when New York rappers have to battle for it like never before. Joell Ortiz started with dropping a few mixtapes, some with New York's own DJ J-Love.

The newest Joell Ortiz mixtape is "Me, Myself, and I", which features all new music including "All Falls Down", "Who Dat", and "Lemonade". Joell Ortiz is coming up a little every day and I wish him all the best. Hopefully he will attain some commercial success soon.

Maino mixtapes

Maino was released from jail a couple years ago, and he started to drop mixtapes right away. He was one of the first New York rappers in a long while that actually achieved a little commercial success. The South has seemed to dominate and New York has been greatly minimized. Maino had the excellent hit "All The Above" with T-Pain (which I played over and over, especially the remix with Young Jeezy).

Maino has had many a mixtape. One of my favorites was with DJ Keyz, titled "Prince Of The City". Maino has a gruff style and he keeps it real in his rhymes. Hopefully with the release of his second album, he will gain greater commercial success and bring some attention back to NY.

Cam'ron Mixtape

My favorite Cam'ron mixtape lately was DJ Drama Camron Boss Of All Bosses 2. While the first one is a classic, and the new 2.5 is great too, this second one was the one I couldn't take out of the truck. Newcomer Vado helps Cam as they go from other people's beats to new beats and just kill every track.

Cam'ron has always been one who, regardless of whether he is on the albums or the mixtapes, he consistently comes hard. I was going to recommend certain songs on here, but you really just gotta hear this whole joint. Hard front to back. Even though I miss Cam being with Juelz and Jim when Dipset was strong, this is still great music.

Styles P The Phantom Menace

While all Styles P mixtapes are great, the one that most stand out to me is the Big Mike Styles P Phantom Empire mixtape. This is the one I listen to over and over again. It is a good "cold-weather, hoody, early morning workout when the world is still sleeping and you are being the champ" mixtape. I have this one in the iPod and constantly listen to it while working out.

This whole mixtape is banging from front to back. Standout tracks are "3 Strikes"(one of my favorite SP tracks of all time), "Supergangsta", "Space Ghost". Even when Styles talks between the songs it is hard. He is one of the only rappers who actually says something worth hearing on the interludes.

Waka Flocka Flame mixtape Flocka Nation

Wacka Flocka Flame mixtapes have been dropping like wildfire lately. Ever since he broke out with his smash hits "Hard In The Paint" and the monster "O Let's Do It" with Diddy, Ross and Gucci, Waka has just not slowed down. Dropping mixtape after mixtape, he is using Gucci's game plan to build himself a huge street following.

His newest mixtape is called "Flocka Nation". It features a bunch of new tracks, including "Bricksquad Trap" with Frenchie, "Fuck The Club Up", and TTG with your boy French Montana. It is what you would expect from Waka. Hard raps over bangin beats. I just heard he is no longer with Gucci and the So Icy camp. I'm curious where he will end up.

OJ Da Juiceman Bouldercrest Day

OJ Da Juiceman has built a career off of his OJ Da Juiceman mixtapes. Ever since he first came out with Bouldercrest Working with Trapholics and Gucci and was introduced to the world, he has gotten bigger and more popular. I heard the first mixtape and really didn't like it, but over time OJ Da Juiceman really started to grow on me.

His new mixtape is with Don Cannon. It is official and all new exclusives. New tracks include "Dumb", "Coogi", "Crazy Color Chains", "Trap Boys", "Ride The Beat", and more. One of my favorite OJ songs ever is with Gucci on the Movie Part 2, called "Overboard".
