Evil Empire Tapemasters Inc Power Part 5

One of the great recent Hip-Hop mixtapes series is the "Power" series by a collabo between Tapemasters Inc. and Evil Empire. These mixtapes feature both East and South with a little lean towards the East. They are always solid and full of songs not heard on other mixtapes. I started off with volume one, just to check it out, and since then I have messed with every one they have dropped.

The newest edition in this series is "Power Part 5". This one features tons of smokin new cuts, including the brand new Lil' Kim cut "Black Friday" dissing Nicki Minaj. Dipset mixtapes are legendary in how strong of a legacy they built for the Diplomats. Even though Cam'ron had already had a name from his work with Children Of The Corn and cameos with other rappers as well as his solo "Confessions Of Fire" album, Jim Jones Juelz Santana Hell Rell JR Writer and Freaky Zeeky were all unknowns. Through the grassroots movement of Dipset mixtapes they all became household names and many of them built huge careers (mainly Jim and Juelz). Dipset has always been known for a flashy style and swag that is definitively Harlem and cannot be duplicated.

D-Block mixtapes are now, and have always been, the most solid and well-done mixtapes in the game. Jadakiss, Styles and Sheek are easily Top Five Dead Or Alive, and they each bring a distinct and talented style to this thing we call hip-hop. Although Jadakiss is a great rapper and easily the most commercially accessible, many people overlook Styles and Sheek, who are both such great rappers that they really have no competition that I can see.

This one features all new material from dem D-Block boyz, tracks like the incredible "Tape Rock" from Jadakiss, "Start It Up" from Styles P, and "If You Love Me" by Sheek Louch. One group who was never scared of promotion is G-Unit. Smooth Denali Hip-Hop Classics 21 Soundclash

Old School mixtapes always seem to cause quite a stir. I am not sure if it is the fact that alot of people haven't heard these songs in awhile, or if just hearing these collections back to back brings folks back to the days when they heard them all the time, but they definitely cause people to get rowdy. Some love the old school hip-hop joints, which take them back to 1980's New York or early 90's California, while some love the flashback RnB stuff, reminding them of the smooth 70's when they were with their high school girlfriend. Either way, old school mixtapes just seem to bring out the best in people.

Smooth Deanli is no stranger to old school mixtapes. He has both an old school hip-hop and a RnB series. The newest volume in his bestselling hip-hop series is titled "Hip-Hop Classics 21-Soundclash". This one focuses on Pete Rock and DJ Premier, two of the old school greats. Tracks include Premo's "Deep Concentration", Nas' "NY State Of Mind", "Above The Clouds" from Gangstarr and Inspectah Deck, "I Get Physical" from Pete Rock and CL Smooth, "One In A Million" from Jay-Z, and many more. DJ Smooth Denali We Grew Up On Hip-Hop 3 Bad Boy Records

DJ Smooth Denali is easily one of the best and most talented DJ's to come out of New York City. Smooth Denali mixtapes have been around forever, and his name has become synonymous with solid skills. He has done old-school, new school, R&B, Reggaeton, House, Reggae...You name it, he has out his stamp on it.

One of his best series is titled "We Grew Up On Hip-Hop". These focus on a particular era and showcase the best songs from that time. The newest volume, "We Grew Up On Hip-Hop 3", focuses on the 90's era Bad Boy Records. What a great time for music that was. This one has all the greats. "Flava In Ya Ear" from both Craig Mack and Biggie's fantastic remix, "Unbelievable" from Biggie, "Victory" from Puff Biggie and Busta Rhymes, "All About The Benjamins" from the whole squad, "Money Power Respect" from the Lox and DMX, "24 Hours To Live" from Mase Lox and Lil' Kim, and even some lesser known ones like the classic "Senorita" from Puff. With 34 tracks in total, this one is sure to please, and really brings back one of the greatest eras in hip-hop history. We'll always love Big Poppa....

DJ White Owl Drop That 145

DJ White Owl continues on his path to be the king of exclusives. DJ White Owl mixtapes always feature the newest of the new hip-hop cuts. The "Drop That" series is unbelievably on it's 145th installment and moving forward without stopping. These cds are crazy hard, and I have heard so many jams on here that I have never heard elsewhere.

The newest installment to this movement is "DJ White Owl-Drop That 145". This one features crazy new cuts like "That's My Bitch" from Kanye West and Jay-Z, the spankin new "Hoes And Ladies" from the newly released Lil' Wayne, "That's Where I'm At" from Eminem and Lloyd Banks (which is a great revenge song, with Em singing to some female about how much she'd love life right now if she was him but she doesn't because it sucks to be her), plus new ones from Styles P, Tony Yayo, a long Max B phone interview from prison, Cassidy, Sheek, Joell Ortiz, and a new song with Cam'ron Jim Jones and JR Writer on it together ("Cinderella") which sounds really nice to hear them all together again. The Empire Southern Slang 20

The Empire mixtapes gathered great attention when The Empire dropped the classic "The Drought Is Over" mixtape series with Lil' Wayne, which featured all new material from Weezy on each volume and caught Wayne's attention, which caused his scathing response. The Empire has been dropping his Southern Slang series for awhile now, which spotlights the newest and hottest hip-hop tracks to drop from the South.

This new one, "Southern Slang 20", features new joints from Alley Boy "Feel Me" (who also hosts the mixtape), Yo Gotti with Rick Ross "Teenage Numbers", T.I. with Kanye and Kid Cudi "Real Love", Gucci Mane "I'm In Love", the street banger from Lil' Boosie with B.G. "Do Me Right", brand new "Fire Flame" from the freshly-released Lil Wayne with Birdman, Rocko "Streets Made Of Gold", and more. This one shows that the south is still running the hip-hop game.

T.I. A Changed Man

T.I. has been building a name for himself for years now, ever since his old DJ Drama mixtape "Down With The King" and his debut album "I'm Serious". T.I. mixtapes have helped cement his name as one of hip-hop's elite, and he has honestly become better with time (which is something that cannot be said for many other rappers). Unfortunately, T.I. was recently caught smoking weed in California, and he was sent back to prison for two more years.

This new mixtape , titled "T.I.-A Changed Man"features his newest material he did just prior to going back to jail. New bangers include "Real Love" witth Kanye West and Kid Cudi, "All She Wrote" with Eminem, my jam "Mr. Kodak", "She's So Fly", the emotional new "Dying In Your Arms" with Jazmine Sullivan, "I Can't Help It" with Rocko, "Sanford and Son", and many more. This shows the legacy of a very talented rapper who unfortunately cannot seem to stay out of jail.

Reggaeton Mixtapes

Reggaeton Mixtapes are nice to try when you want a little something different. Reggaeton mixes club-type music with latin and beats similar to reggae to create a new music form that many people are die-hard fans of. Reggaeton mixtapes have many great beats and they are perfect for parties.

Popular Reggaeton DJ's are DJ Rei Double R, DJ Skillz, DJ Amo, and my personal favorite DJ Jamsha. These DJ's regularly drop new hot Reggaeton mixtapes, as well as Salsa, Mambo, and other latin classics. Jamsha has a great Reggaeton mixtape series titled "Reggaeton Hot Release". He has dropped tons of volumes, and they are great ideas for people who wanna get familiar with Reggaeton music.

Hip-Hop Mixtapes

Hip-Hop Mixtapes are an absolute essential item to any hip-hop fan. Some of the best jams I have ever heard in my life are from mixtapes rather than albums. Take D-Block, for example. Their albums have been hit or miss, with some good tracks and many not so good ones (usually musically rather than lyrically). But their mixtapes? I have never heard ONE single weak one. Take the new Green Lantern Sheek "Donnie Def Jam" mixtape. I have played it fully through at least ten times, and I have never heard a Sheek album that even comes close to it.

For anyone who is not too familiar with mixtapes or has only heard a few, or if you think all they are is a mix of different album songs, check em out. They have tons of exclusive material (as they are created to be promotional tools) and a variety of great stuff that you have never heard from your favorite artists.

Nicki Minaj Mixtapes

Another artist who built her independant grind through mixtapes and then blew up similar to Drake (funny how they're both on Young Money and came up under Lil' Wayne, who did exactly the same thing) is Nicki Minaj. Nicki Minaj mixtapes are what the current reigning queen of hip-hop built her career off of. Her debut didn't even drop until around 6 weeks ago, and by then it was too late for the competition.

Her first official mixtape, "Beam Me Up Scotty", paved the way for what was to come. In a space that had been left vacant by Remy Ma and Foxy's incarceration, Lil' Kim's hit-or-miss albums, and some others like Trina/Gangsta Boo/Diamond who are talented in their own right but could never attain the popularity to be deemed hip-hop's queen, Nicki Minaj worked her way right into the position. Through constant mixtapes and long road tours, she put her face in front of everyone and kept her name buzzing in the streets. She also brought a freshness and an originality to the game that had not been seen in awhile. Her success is well-deserved.

Drake Mixtapes

One artist that I must call out for superior mixtape work this past year is Drake. Regardless of how you feel about him, he used Drake mixtapes to change the entire game and to build a monstrously successful career before he had even began working on his debut album.



Drake used a method which had not been used often before him. He created each mixtape as if it was an album, complete with concepts, full long songs, and he didn't go over-heavy on the guests like a lot of other artists do. His first mixtape, "So Far Gone", has become a legendary classic, and it positioned Drake to take over the game.



Since that first one, Drake has dropped tons of mixtapes and gotten consistently better with each one. I was just listening to that new remix of "Fall For Your Type" with Jamie Foxx and another weird song called "Hit It In The Morning" that Drake guests on, and just marvelling at how when he gets on the track he just takes it over. Drake is definitely one to watch over the coming year.

Kanye West A Beautiful Death

One hip-hop artist who is quite familiar with the spotlight is Kanye West. Ever since dropping his excellent "808's and Heartbreak" a couple years ago (which many people didn't understand, but for those of us going through relationship issues it made all the sense in the world), Kanye has stayed in the spotlight, whether from dropping great hip-hop or acting up at awards shows. Kanye has had his share of Kanye West mixtapes, but he doesn't drop them with near the regularity of other artists.

The newest Kanye West mixtape "Kanye West-A Beautiful Death". This one has the newest material from the Louis Vuitton Don. New tracks include "Dark Fantasy", "Gorgeous" with Kid Cudi and Raekwon, "All The Lights" with Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, "Hell Of A Life", "Devil In A New Dress", "Runaway" with Pusha T (which has been already redone by Dipset, Clipse, D-Block), and more. This new music is inspired, and Kanye seems to have worked through his demons and gotten to a better place.

Lloyd Banks Blue Friday

One rapper who is quite familiar with the mixtape grind is Lloyd Banks. Ever since he first came onto the scene with 50 Cent and G-Unit, Banks made his name known and built a huge buzz for his debut album "The Hunger For More" off of his Lloyd Banks mixtapes. I was a huge fan of those original ones, like the old DJ Famous "Best Of Lloyd Banks" volumes that were just classics. Banks has a signature flow and some of the best punch lines in the game.

The newest Lloyd Banks mixtape is "Lloyd Banks-Blue Friday". This one features the newest of the new from Banks, including brand new banger "Celebrity" with Akon and "Start It Up" with Fabolous, Swizz Beats and Ryan Leslie, as well as "I Don't Deserve You", "Large On The Streets", "Take Em To War" with Tony Yayo, "Best Kept Secret", "Feel Like You" with Eminem, and more. Banks has always kept it the same, and his fans appreciate that. He still makes good songs, and his flow gets better with time.

DJ Famous mixtapes have built his career and gotten him a name as one of the top RnB DJ's in the business. Famous has been around for awhile now, and between his classic RnB mixtapes and his cutting-edge hip-hop ones, he is one of the better known DJ's in the mixtape game. His long-running RnB series "Sexual Affairs" brings you the newest of the new RnB perfectly crafted together into a flawless mixtape.

The newest volume, "Sexual Affairs 39-Can't Be Friends", features the newest RnB for December 2010. New tracks include Monica feat. Fabolous is one rapper who understands the strength of mixtapes. He has been grinding since he first came out in the early 2000's, and he built his name off the strength of his classic DJ Clue freestyles and his Fabolous mixtapes. Since then, Fab has dropped multiple albums (Last year's "Loso's Way" was the strongest ever) and tons of mixtape, including the excellent "There Is No Competition" series with DJ Drama.

DJ Rob E Rob has done many "Best-Of" mixtapes, and they all have one thing in common. They are between 60-90 tracks, and they seem to play forever. They are jammed full of every hit, hidden gems, exclusives, collabs, and everything else in between. The newest from him is "DJ Rob E Rob-The Official Fabolous Mixtape". This time around, Rob E Rob brings you a 90-track banger from Loso himself. This one has the new and the old, the exclusive and the classic. From "Throw It In The Bag" and "Make Me Better" to "My Girl Gotta Girlfriend" and "Keepin It Gangsta", you will love this one. These are great for long car rides. It's Loso, you know so cause I told you so.....

DJ Rob E Rob Ron G Blazin Blendz 7

Blends mixtapes are always a crowd favorite. The ones that people always seem to request the most are the ones where one popular song is blended into another to create an entirely new song. DJ Rob E Rob is an incredibly skilled blend DJ, and in this collaboration will well-known classic Blend DJ Ron G they does this masterfully on his newest edition to his popular "Blazin Blendz" series.

If you're looking for some great East Coast mixtapes, one series you must check out is White Owl's "Drop That" series. Though they are split between East Coast and Down South, they feature pretty much the hottest and newest East Coast material from all the greats: Diplomats, Jadakiss, Styles, Sheek, Nas, Jay-Z, DMX, Lloyd Banks, NORE, 50 Cent, etc. This series just keeps going (144 volumes in!) and may easily be the longest running mixtape series ever.

Jim Jones mixtapes have always been real strong. From his first two official mixtapes (Ambitionz Of A Gangsta and Ryder Muzik) to his classic "7 Day Theory" with DJ Drama, to his killer slots on all of the Diplomats Volume 1-5 classic mixtapes, Jones has proved himself to be one of New York's hip-hop elite and his music is always raw and emotional. I have grown to be a bigger and bigger fan of Jones over the past few years. His last album was not so good, but his "Hustlers Pome" and "Harlem:Diary Of A Summer" albums were classic, and he has dropped tons of great mixtapes.

The new official Jim Jones mixtape is "DJ Scream DJ Whoo Kid-Jim Jones Capo Life". This one features all the brand new Jones material. New cuts include "Light It Up" with Sen City, "Runaway" with Cam'ron, "Dope Boi" with Mel Matrix, "Let Em Lay", the banger "Like Gangstas" with Snoop Dogg and Rell, the club banger "Lookin Like Money" with DJ Prostyle, the excellent "Haunted" with Gucci Mane, and many more. DJ Spinatik drops another classic mixtape in his popular "Street Runnaz" mixtape series this past week. DJ Spinatik mixtapes are known for having some of the freshest and newest down south exclusives available, and this one is no different. I got into these from the very beginning, and I always hear tracks on them that just really hit me right.

This new volume, titled "Street Runnaz 54", has tons of fantastic new cuts. DJ Scream mixtapes are always strong. Scream is down with Drama, and he has learned from Mr. Gangsta Grillz about putting together a solid mixtape. Scream also has a long history with Plies. DJ Scream was the first DJ to do an official mixtape with Plies, and said mixtape was the thing that helped Plies get his name out there and shortly after secure his deal. A couple months ago they hooked up again to bring you "You Need People Like Me", a slab of brand new but instantly classic Plies material.

Now, a few months later, DJ Scream and Plies bring you "You Need People Like Me Part 2", the second volume of brand new material from the Goon himself. Smokin new joints include Thinkin Bout, Paranoid, Throwin Money, F*ck A Nigga, Bodyguard, Go For It, Trying To Beat The Odds, My City, and more. DJ Drama mixtapes are the best mixtapes in the business, Period. Drama brought something to the game that was fresh, original, and much needed. Instead of simply grabbing new tracks from record companies, leaks, and other places, he actually got the artist themself into the studio and had them make all new songs over either brand new beats or other people's beats. This was like creating a new underground album. His Gangsta Grillz mixtapes are classics and are always hot.

Young Money's new sensation Tyga is the focus of this new mixtape. Titled "Tyga-Well Done", this is all brand new material from Lil' Wayne's new partner. One artist who can definitely carry his own mixtape is Pusha T from the Clipse. Both he and his brother Malice are lyrical beasts, and whether it is on an album or a mixtape they continue to weave their cocaine/jewelry/Bentley tales with superb finesse. Since coming out with the hit "Grindin" with Pharrell years and years ago, they have built a successful career as some of the gods of coke rap.

DJ Delz brings you a new mixtape featuring all new Pusha T material, titled "I'm Your Pusha". DJ White Owl "Drop That" mixtapes have been strong since they first dropped. White Owl always brings the newest of the new exclusives and puts them back-to-back to create slamming mixtapes that pretty much ride front to back. I've heard some of the best exclusives in the past few years on White Owl mixtapes, and many of the songs never make it onto any other DJ's mixtapes.

The newest mixtape from DJ White Owl is "Drop That 142", following the same recipe that has built him this reputation for exclusives and solid mixtapes. Tons of new cuts on here, the easy standout being "Living Proof" from Eminem and Royce Da 5'9, where they simply kill it while subtly referring to Em's since-passed compadre Proof from D-12. Other new cuts from Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Jadakiss, Lloyd Banks, Papoose, Cassidy, Styles P, Hell Rell and many more round out a banging mixtape, and to top it off you get a nice mix of East and South both without leaning heavier to either way.

As I have said before, Lil' Wayne mixtapes are always a safe bet. Wayne puts his heart and soul into his material, and he never puts out a weak verse or half-asses his lines. He was recently released from jail, and hopefully he is working on a new official mixtape with DJ Drama, like a Dedication 4, but more like Dedication 2 and not Dedication 3. I miss the old Wayne, the more gangster, not so emotional Wayne, the New Orleans Wayne.

Pimp C's unfortunate early death just shortly after his release from prison was heartbreaking to all of his fans, and only through his mixtapes does his legacy continue to move on.

The newest Young Money mixtape is done with DJ Cool Breeze, titled "Young Money Dynasty 2". This one features new cuts from the whole YM camp. New joints include the exceleltn "Romans Revenge" from Nicki Minaj and Eminem, Mack Maine's brand new "Young Mula Baby", Lil Chuckee's "Big Money Talk" with Titi Boi and Yo Gotti, "Take Me There" from Jae Millz, "Stay Here Tonight" from Brisco, and many more. Lil' Boosie Last Days DVD

While it is always good to cop the newest mixtapes available for that exclusive heat, another great thing to check out is hood DVDs. Whether it is documentaries on gangs and drugs, the newest behind-the-scenes rap joint, or an all hip-hop video dvd to ride to, I have always enjoyed checking out the new street DVDs.

This new one is something special. This one is "Lil' Boosie-Last Days DVD". It was shot at Boosie's home covering the final week before he went in to do his supposed one-two year sentence (which now has him arraigned on additional murder charges and possibly facing the death penalty). The DVD is very real and uncut, and shows you a real glimpse in to the life of the man known as Lil Boosie. I love this DVD. It shows Boosie playing with his kids, interviews with those closest to him and they speak on how many people he supports and helps with his music. He raps in his in-home studio, has Juvenile over one night and B.G. over for his going away party, he gets tattooed with his squad, etc. It is one of the realest things I have ever seen on DVD and it honestly makes you sad that this very talented guy is sitting in a prison cell right now. If you haven't seen this yet, definitely check it out. It may actually make you a fan of him, and in this day of all these fakers and emotional rappers, Boosie is truly one of the last of the gangsters.

Currensy Damier Doobies

Currensy has had a rough career. He started off on the gravy train, being part of the Young Money click, where he was pretty much guaranteed to have a huge career and make tons of money. He fell out with Lil' Wayne and left the camp, where he has been left on his own to forge a career by himself with no big cosigns or label deals. His mixtapes have remained strong, and he has built a crazy following off of his signature verbal style.

The newest Currensy mixtape is titled "Damier Doobies". This one features all brand-new tracks.
New joints include Audio Dope, In The Sun, Real Things, Twistin Stank, Go feat. Jim Jones (banger!!), 4 Hours And 20 Minutes feat. J. Cole mixtapes have been causing quite a stir. J. Cole is one of the most popular freshman this year, and he has been on his mixtape grind since day one. Between dropping official mixtapes that play like albums to dropping mixtapes with Wiz Khalifa, Currensy and Drake, J.Cole is setting the stage to blow up this coming year.

The new official J. Cole mixtape is titled "J. Cole-Friday Night Lights". This mixtape plays like an album, reminiscent of how Drake dropped "So Far Gone" and it was like his debut album. This classic from J. Cole features tracks like "Before I'm Gone", "Back to the topic", "You got it ft Wale", "Villematic", "Enchanted" ft omen, "Blow up", "Higher", "In the morning" ft Drake, "2face", "the autograph" and many more. DJ 2Mello Usher Drake Trey Songz Lost Boyz

Between Usher, Drake, and Trey Songz, there have been many of mixtapes dropped. Usher is on his grind to re-take over the RnB game, and newcomers Drake and Trey Songz are burning up the charts and trying to write a new chapter to the game. All three of these artists have individual and yet similar levels of smoothness, charm and great vocals, so it was only right for DJ 2Mello to drop a new mixtape with the three of them doing what they do best.

This new mixtape is titled "Usher Drake Trey Songz-The Lost Boyz", and the cover is a spin-off of the old vampire movie "The Lost Boys". Standouts from Usher are "I Did It", "Lookin For Love", "Turned Up" and the excellent "DJs Got Us Falling In Love". Drake brings the brand new banger "Whats My Name Part 2" with Rihanna, "Fall For Your Type" with Jamie Foxx, and "Celebration" with Tank. RnB mixtapes by DJ2Mello are always a good bet. As I have said before, 2Mello really works his craft into producing a mixtape worth listening to over and over again, even after the songs are no longer new. His long-running "RnB Royalty" series focuses on the newest of the new, and brings you the best of them, with absolutely no filler.

Rick Ross mixtapes have not only always been good, but they have shown and proven the lyrical skill of Ross and how it has gotten better and better with time. When Rick Ross first came out with the breakout smash"Hustlin", many people thought that he would come and go. Ross had other plans. He has established himself as one of the top players in the hip-hop game, and I have never heard one weak verse on his albums or mixtapes. Ross also has a great crossover appeal. Some rappers can do the RnB thing well, like Fabolous or Diddy or Jadakiss, while others just never quite sound right. Ross graces the track and gives to it, rather than takes from it.

Staying on this path, Smooth Denali has just dropped his new Ross Rnb Collabs mixtape, titled "The Guest Spot 3-RnB Ricky", which features a best-of Ross's RnB collabs with various artists. Tracks included are "Touch My Body" with Mariah Carey, "Window Seat" with Erykah Badu, "Wrong Lover" with J. Holiday, "Angels"(Remix) with Dirty Money (banger!!!), "Rude Boy" with Rihanna, "Heartless"(Remix) with Kanye West (banger!!), and many more. This mixtape is a strong testament to not only Ross's lyrical prowess, but also his crossover appeal.

DJ Smooth Denali The Guest Spot 2 R. Kelly

R. Kelly mixtapes have always caused a stir. Whether just for the controversy around his sex-tape trial or for the real fans who know that he is truly RnB's reigning king, every time an R. Kelly mixtape drops people scramble to get it. For instance, last year R. Kelly got with DJ Drama to do an official mixtape (something unheard of in the RnB world) for the sole reason of showing the younger singers that he was still relevant and that they were on his turf. That mixtape became an instant classic, and further cemented his position as the ruler of all things RnB.

DJ Smooth Denali has come with a new mixtape based off of a great idea. R. Kelly seems to shine most when he is on rappers' tracks as a guest, and so Smooth Denali decided to make a mixtape of all of his guest spots, titled "The Guest Spot 2-R. Kelly". This one features his new collabs as well as his classics. Songs include SHAWTY IS A TEN (REMIX) FT. THE DREAM, MAKE IT RAIN (REMIX) - FT. FAT JOE, LIL WAYNE RICK ROSS TI, EVERY GIRL (REMIX) FT. One of my favorite artists of all time is Max B. Max B mixtapes are all there are out here of Max, as he never dropped an album and is currently imprisoned for conspiracy to commit murder. Max threw his heart into the mixtapes and built a huge following from them. Dame Grease and DJ Delz get together every month or so and keep the Wave rolling forward with this great "Wave Gang" series, which features Max B, French Montana, Dame Grease, and Bigga Threat.

The newest edition in the series is "Wave Gang 6". This installment features new tracks from the waviest crew in the game like Max B feat. E-Snaps - What The Game Need, French Montana & Wiz Khalifa - So Good, Dame Grease - Shots From The 44, Max B feat. 2Pac & Notorious B.I.G - Hypnotized(Crazy!), Bigga Threat - Life Is But A Dream, French Montana - Deuces, Max B & Dame Grease - Neva Let Em Stay, and many more. Of all of the current hip-hop artists in the rap game in 2010, easily one of the most talented and misunderstood has to be Kanye West. Kanye West mixtapes have done a good job of keeping fans satiated in between albums and keeping his brand new material floating around. Kanye has always been one who understands the importance of a mixtape in keeping his buzz alive, and every so often he graces his fans with some new heat to keep them happy.

The new Kanye West mixtape is titled "Kanye West-Good Dreams". This one has all of the brand new cuts from the Louis Vuitton Don. New tracks include "Don't Look Down" with Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco and Big Sean, "Take One For The Team" featuring pusha t, cyhi the prince & keri hilson, "All Of The Lights" with Tony Williams, "The Joy" with Jay-z, Pete Rock, Charlie Wilson, Kid Cudi & Curtis Mayfield, "Devil In A New Dress", "Ayyy Girl", "Start It Up", and many more. Definitely one for the books...

Tapemasters Inc Pusha T Good Shit

Clipse mixtapes have always been classics. Especially the "We Got It For Cheap" series. The Clipse came out of nowhere with their street hustling anthem "Grinding" and just blew up. I have personally always been a big fan. Though sometimes weird-ass Pharrell gives them the wrong beats, The Clipse consistently spit hard and drop great verses that consist of mostly hustling and getting money. Both Pusha T and Malice have many monster verses under their belts.

The newest Tapemasters Inc mixtape, titled "Pusha T- Good Shit", features Pusha T in the spotlight for this go around. With all new material, Pusha T shows his lyricall prowess and shines for the team. New joints include Bang Bang, Start It Up, See About Us, Ice Cold, Make a killin, Arm Piece, Good Friday, Runaway, Bidding War, and many more. I feel like if they could actually get rid of Pharrell and get some strong beatmakers behind them they could go much farther than they ever have.

Evil Empire Tapemasters Inc Power Part 4

One of the mixtape series' that really surprised and impressed me these past few months has been this "Power" series that has been dropping as a joint collabo between Evil Empire and Tapemasters Inc. Featuring mostly East Coast artists, with a few collabs from southerners, these mixtapes have been really strong. I listened to the first one multiple times and really enjoyed it, and I have been checking out each volume as they have dropped.

The newest is "Power Part Four", which continues in the same tradition as it's predecessors. New tracks from Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Eminem, 50 Cent, Rick Ross, Jadakiss, Fabolous, Joe Budden, Styles P, T.I., Maino, Uncle Murda, Lloyd Banks, The Game, and many more. Standout tracks are "Roman's Revenge" from Nicki Minaj and Eminem, where Nicki goes in on Lil' Kim and Em comes in and kills the track in his usual style, and "The Joy" from Kanye West and Jay-Z, which is simply pure unadulterated hip-hop bliss.

DJ Envy Codeine Overdose 14

Of all of the southern mixtapes, the Codeine Overdose series is by far one of the strongest. DJ Envy knows how to put together a strong mixtape, and his long-running Codeine series proves his ear for the newest, hardest down south tracks.

His newest edition, "Codeine Overdose 14", features new joints like "Like I See It" from Rick Ross, "I Need Doe" from Bun B, the banger "I Can't Help It" from T.I., "Start It Up" from Pusha T, "Sleep When I Die" from Young Jeezy, and "Jack Boyz" with Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman and Wooh Da Kid. This mixtape also features other new joints from Waka Flocka, Lil Boosie, B.G., Roccett, Andre 3000, Trick Daddy, Trina, Ludacris, Young Buck, Slim Thug, Birdman, Nelly and more.

DJ Keyz Cam'ron Natural Born Killa

I ahve always been a huge fan of Cam'ron and Cam'ron mixtapes. Cam was the leader of the mighty Diplomats unit, and without him you would have never heard Juelz Santana, Jimmy Jones, Hell Rell, A-Mafia, JR Writer and others. Cam'ron has been around for a long time, and he has a swagger and a style that is not only pure Harlem, but it is also unmatched by any other artist. From his early Diplomats mixtapes to his classic "Public Enemy" mixtape, to his old freestyle mixtapes, Cam has been killing the mixtape circuit for years and years now.

The newest Cam'ron mixtape is with DJ Keyz, titled "Natural Born Killa", features all of the newest tracks from the Dipset kingpin. New joints include Hud 6, Mechanics, I Don't Know, the excellent "Toast" freestyle, Shooter, Fairytale, So Crazy, Wanna Get, Stop The Party, I'm On It, Spread My Wings, Butta, and more. Cam consistently drops great songs, and he seems to never run out of new hustle material to rap about. His mixtape series with DJ Drama (the Boss Of The Bosses) proved this, as each one got harder. Hopefully the Dipset reunion will come through and we will have a new album and some new mixtapes with all of Dipset back together again. I guess we'll wait and see....

DJ Keyz Jadakiss Lloyd Banks Corna Boyz Part 12

DJ Keyz mixtapes are always a good bet. Keyz puts together the best mixes of new and older songs, and his cds usually ride well from beginning to end with no skipping required. From when I first heard the old Bun B cd he did like 7 years ago, the classic "Get Screwed Up", I was a DJ Keyz fan and have been since then.

The newest DJ Keyz mixtape is done with two East Coast heavyhitters, Jadakiss and Lloyd Banks. This new mixtape is titled "Corna Boyz Part 12", and is actually a great mix of the two artists. Their styles work well together, and the mixtape comes off flawlessly. New bangers include "Start It Up", "Close Your Eyes", "Goodbye", "They Don't Know Me", "Remember The Titans", "I'm So Apalled", "When I Get There", "86" and more. Standout track is the new "Clip Up" featuring Sheek Louch and Styles P. Any track that brings all three D-Block boyz together on the same track just outshines the rest. If only we could get this damn LOX album already...

DJ Keyz Illy Philly Part Four

One place that never gets it's just due is Philly. There are many great rappers coming out of Philly, some of the rawest in the game, and yet you really don't see too many Philly mixtapes. I have always been a huge Beanie Sigel and Young Gunz fan, and I rarely hear new stuff from them. Beanie's vicious street style and the way he always keeps it real is rare in this current climate of fakeness and switching-up. Young Gunz are super talented, and Young Chris has the potential to be one of hip-hop's greats, though he currently seems to be struggling to find a label.

With all this said, it's welcoming to see this new mixtape from DJ Keyz, "Illy Philly Part Four", the fourth installment in Keyz' ultra-popular series spotlighting Philly and it's fantastic artists. And this one got em all! New cuts from Beanie Sigel, Young Chris, Cassidy, Gillie The Kid, Meek Mill (the next up and comer), Freeway, Cyssero, Jakk Frost, Tone Trump, Peedi Crack and more. Standouts here are the amazing "Philly Shit" with Young Chris and the brand new "1 Clip, 1 Gun" from Beanie Sigel. Get on this already...

DJ Keyz Welcome To NYC Part 3

East Coast mixtapes have been dropping less and less the past few years, since the South has become the dominant region in hip-hop. Sometimes I miss the days when those old fresh NY mixtapes would drop, when Lloyd Banks was brand new, when Nas was rapping gangster, when DMX would have special cuts with Clue and Funk Flex. I remember when the Diplomats mixtapes were fresh out and every time one dropped the streets just sucked them right up.

The newest mixtape from DJ Keyz, titled "Welcome To NYC Part 3", brings back a taste of those days. This one features all of the newest, hottest joints from NYC and the artists that are still killing it out of that old Big Apple. Brand new cuts from Nicki Minaj, Jadakiss, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Cam'ron, Jay-Z, Grafh, Ghostface, Fabolous, Maino, Jim Jones, AZ and more send that cold winter New York chill right through the speakers into your ride. Another great mixtape series full of south material is DJ Spinatik's "Street Runnaz" series. These feature the newest cuts from the south, and rather than trying to sneak it cuts from unknowns or weak filler tracks, Spinatik keeps em full of bangers front to back.

The newest volume is titled "Street Runnaz 53". Featuring 27 brand new hot tracks, standouts include T.I. "I Can't Help It", which is worth the price of admission alone, Waka Flocka with Twista "Wasted", Yo Gotti Starlito and West "Got Bread", Rick Ross and Rocko "Just In Case", Rick Ross Bun B and Roccett "Grindin All Night", Three Six Mafia "Dollar Signs", Young Jeezy "Sleep When I Die", as well as new music from Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Mystikal, Big Boi, Lil Keke, and more.

The Empire Southern Slang 19

Down South mixtapes come and go. Many series arer short-lived, and others last for a long time. One of my favorite and longest-lasting southern rap mixtape series is The Empire's "Southern Slang" series. The recipe is simple: Bring the people the freshest,newest, hardest new cuts from the south over and over again. I have personally been a fan since I heard the first one.

The newest volume is "Southern Slang 19". This one features new cuts like "She Thinks I Love Her" and "30 Years 30 Millions" from Gucci Mane, "So In Love" from Rick Ross, brand new banger "I Can't Help It" from T.I., "Hello" from Waka Flocka, as well as new joints from Webbie, Mack Maine, Slim Thug, Trick Daddy, and more. Rick Ross Ricky Castro

Rick Ross mixtapes are among my top favorite mixtapes. Ross has always kept it hard and consistent, and I have honestly never heard him ever spit one weak verse. From his DJ Delz mixtape series "Jackin For Beats" where he spit over everyone else's beats and murdered them, to his DJ Scream Triple C's mixtape and his excellent DJ Khaled "M.I.Yayo" debut mixtape. Ross not only has a serious rap game, but he gets better and better with each release. His Deeper Than Rap album was one of my favorite cds of last year.

The newest Rick Ross mixtape, titled "Ricky Castro", follows this same route. New tracks include Tangerine, So In Love, Like I See, the fantastic Give It To Em with Akon, Just In Case ft. Rocko, BMF with Jeezy and Yo Gotti, Living Better with Jamie Foxx, and many more. This one is a suitable addition to the many mixtapes Ross has dropped the past few years, and he keeps getting better and better.

Yo Gotti White And Yellow Mixtape

Yo Gotti mixtapes drop every few weeks or so, and they consistently get harder and harder. Yo Gotti came out of Memphis, and through his street material and associations with Gucci Mane and co. he has become a major voice from the South. His classic "Definition Of A G" mixtape with Gucci Mane and DJ Drama blew his popularity up, and since then a steady stream of mixtapes has built his popularity and his fanbase.

The newest Yo Gotti mixtape is titled "Yo Gotti-White And Yellow". This one features the newest of the new from Yo Gotti and co. New bangers include "Tunnel", "Big Money" feat. Tity Boi, "Thug In Ya Life", "So Slow", "Pop Champagne", "For The Hood", "Do It Again" feat. Jeezy, and many more. This is a great addition to the collection of any Yo Gotti fan. Hopefully he will do another official one with DJ Drama again soon.

Gucci Mane Celebrity Rehab

If you want a good mixtape, then look no farther than Gucci Mane. He basically built his entire career off the strength of his mixtape game, and he is one of the hottest in the game right now. Gucci drops a consistent mixtape every time, and his beats are always the hardest out. He uses great beatmakers, from my man Zaytoven to DJ Toomp and The Runners. From his "Movie" mixtapes with DJ Drama, to his classic "Writing On The Wall" mixtape, to his recent "Ferrari Music" and "Mr. Zone 6", Gucci just continues to kill em with his sick mixtape skills.

The newest Gucci mixtape is titled "Gucci Mane-Celebrity Rehab". This one has the usual heat you've come to expect from Mr. So Icy. New joints include three world premieres: "She Thinks I Love Her", "30 Years 30 Millions", and "Jack Boys" with Whoo Da Kid and OJ Da Juiceman. Other new tracks include "Twitter That", "Pull Up ", "Chop It Up", "Might As Well", "Get Up Off Me", and more. Gucci was recently arrested for driving in the wrong lane and pepper-sprayed by the cops, but luckily the case was quickly thrown out. I expect huge things from Gucci over the next year or two.

Eminem A Beautiful Mind

Eminem mixtapes have always been crazy sellers. Em drops an album only every so often, and when he drops the occasional mixtape the fans go crazy. Since Em started off his career as a battle rapper in Detroit grinding hard on the underground circuit; all the way to Dr. Dre hearing him on a spot for unsigned artists on the radio and signing him the next day, Eminem has had an unusual career to say the least. One of the only artists who can drop an album every four years and with absolutely no promotional material do a million albums in sales the first week the album drops.

Eminem's newest mixtape is titled "A Beautiful Mind". This one features all the newest material from Marshall Mathers. New tracks include "Love The Way You Lie 2" with Rihanna, "Roman's Revenge" with Nicki Minaj, The Cypher, Session One, My Darling, and Be Careful What You Wish For. Em has recently become clean and sober and this has helped his rap game tremendously. After the garbage albums "Encore" and "Relapse", he came back stronger than ever with his "Recovery" album, and he is now back in full swing.

T.I. Return To Forrest City Correctional

Of all the rappers in the game currently, T.I. is easily one of the best. He has really grown in the past few years and his album "Paper Trail" really showed that. He started to crossover into Top 40 radio without losing his edge and he gained many fans along the way. His few mixtapes have always dropped only so often, and he saves good material to make sure that they are strong and worthwhile.

Due to his unfortunate recent legal situation where he was caught smoking weed with his wife in Los Angeles, he was just recently sent back to prison for violating his parole. This new mixtape "T.I.-Return To Forrest City Correctional" shows all of his newest stuff he just did before going back in. New tracks include "I Can't Help It", "Party People", "Get Back Up", "Tangerine", "Got Em Mad", "Like That", and more. Unfortunately, in the middle of a career that had just really started to shine, T.I. is back inside prison for the second time in the same year. Hopefully we get this "King Uncaged" album sometime soon.

Young Buck Back On My Buck Shit Part 2

Young Buck is really the only member/ex-member of G-Unit (besides the Game) who has really been able to hold onto his street reputation and continue to make music that the streets feel. Since he left G-Unit years ago, Young Buck mixtapes have been dropping regularly and the streets eat them up. Buck has a gritty style, and he always seems to have stellar beatmakers behind him, whether they are known or unknown.

Young Buck's newest mixtape is titled "Back On My Buck Shit Part 2". This is actually the first new stuff from Buck in months, which is surprising because usually he's much more frequent with new material. This one has smokin new tracks like Let Me Go, Come Back, Got Me One, In The Clouds, AM_FM, Cleaned Off, Betta Tell Em, Identify, U Know What It Is and more. I have already listened to this twice and it is really good. The strongest material from Buck in a sec.

Webbie Savage Or Die

Webbie mixtapes don't drop with near the regularity that many other artists' mixtapes do. Webbie was close friends with Pimp C and with Lil' Boosie, and he came up in the South and made a name making grimy street music. His collabos with Boosie are always super hard, and he has hopped on other people's tracks from time to time.

Webbie's newest mixtape is titled "Savage Or Die". This one features all new music from Webbie. Fresh cuts include You Bitch, For Cheap, Flashy, the excellent "Soul Survivor" with Lil Boosie, Betrayed, Bank Roll, How We Do, My City with Slim Thug, Better Not Fight, and more. Webbie has a raw style similar to Boosie and fans just can't get enough of either of them. Half of the tracks on this mixtape feature Lil' Boosie with Webbie.

Cocaine City 14 DVD

Hip-Hop Dvds are always something great to check out, whether it's a Dvd of all hip-hop videos or a documentary or a behind the scenes rap joint. There are various names of the behind-the-scenes ones, from Cheddar to Smack to All Access and many more. Easily one of the best is brought to you by none other than French Montana himself. The Cocaine City series has proved that not only can French rap, but he gets crazy interviews and footage that no one else gets.

The newest volume is "Cocaine City 14". This one features Rick Ross and Triple C's smoking in the bathroom speaking on haters, Jeezy walking through the streets and in the studio with DJ Toomp recording his new long-overdue TM103. French Montana and Akon in Africa, Fat Joe live on stage, Kat Stacks, OJ Da Juiceman and Waka Flocka reppin for the team, and much more. Nicki Minaj speaking on Cocaine City and why she is how she is. There is even an extended fight at a French Montana show that goes on forever. Definitely one to check out.

Currensy Wiz Khalifa How To Fly-The Mixtape

Both Currensy and Wiz Khalifa understand the strength of mixtapes as a promotional tool to build a new artists' buzz on the street. Currensy came from Lil Wayne's camp and he now has to work three times harder to keep his name going without his Young Money cosigner. Wiz Khalifa hails from Pittsburgh, which is well known to be one of the hardest cities to break out of if you're a musician. The two underdogs got together to make a mixtape to prove to y'all that the new blood is strong and coming for the crown.

Their joint mixtape, titled "How To Fly-The Mixtape", is here to prove the haters wrong and hit the fans with some underground heat. New tracks include "Car Service", "All Over", "The Check Point", "The Planes", "Fly Niggas Do Fly Things", "In The Middle", "Drunk Dialing", and more. These two work really well together, and this mixtape really has a cohesion to it. Their styles are similar, and the combination really works. A great mixtape.

Joell Ortiz Me Myself And I Part 2

Joell Ortiz mixtapes have helped the New York rapper to really get his name around and build his career. While Joell has yet to recieve any real commercial success, he has become well known off the strength of his promotion game through mixtapes, shows, and just raw talent. With New York currently being harder than ever to break talent out of, Joell tries to take it back to the days of Pun and Nas to show that the Big Apple still spawns some of the greatest.

The newest mixtape from Joell Ortiz is titled "Me, Myself and I Part 2". This one features all brand new material from the New York bomber. New cuts include A One Two, Dollar, This Is Hip-Hop, That Work, Money Makes The World Go Round, Ask Me Bout Brooklyn, Farewell Summer, Battle Cry, Murder, 80's Baby, and many more. I guarantee you that you will hear a lot more from this up- and-comer very soon.

DJ DX Ciara Pretty Girl Swag

There are some artists that I rarely see drop a mixtape. Ciara is one of them. For whatever reason, I have seen barely any Ciara mixtapes in the past years. Which is a shame, because she is super talented. That video for "Ride" did something to me. I think she is super fine, and she honestly is the only female singer that reminds me alot of Aaliyah: the way she moved like a dancer, how she danced, etc. Ciara is tall and gorgeous.

This new mixtape titled "Pretty Girl Swag", brought to you courtesy of DJ DX, features some new exclusives alongside some great remixes. New tracks include "Shut Em Up", "Gimme Dat", and "Speechless". Remixes include "Nothin But You", "Ridin Slow", "Follow Me", "OMG", "Set It Off", "Goodies", and many more. DJ White Owl Drop That 141

I have already talked about DJ White Owl mixtapes multiple times in my blog. They are always the freshest, hottest, most exclusive tracks that just dropped. Whether your taste is New York, Miami, LA, Atlanta...White Owl got some heat for you. I have been listening to the Drop That series since volume one dropped, I have heard every single one, and they have all been solid. That's pretty heavy to say for 141 mixtapes.

The newest volume is "Drop That 141". This one has new tracks from Styles P, Sheek Louch, Swizz Beats, Cam'ron, 50 Cent, Jadakiss, Lloyd Banks, Lil' Wayne, Vado, Joe Budden, Jim Jones, Raekwon, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Nas, and more. I am always specifically impressed with the D-Block material on the Drop That's. They are never old verses, but rather always brand new jams, and there is new D-Block every single week. I don't know where he gets it, but I am always glad to hear new D-Block every week.

Evil Empire French Montana Coke Boys Tour

French Montana mixtapes have really grown on me. I first came across French buying his Cocaine City dvds from him, and he would always ask me to pick up his mixtapes. I was hesitant, as back then most people had no idea who he was. I started to listen to him right around when he dropped Mac N Cheese/Laundry Man 1, and I was blown away. He has a really original and hard style, and since then I have not only been a fan but I've carried every mixtape he has dropped. The stuff he did with my dude Max B is also phenomenal.

French's newest mixtape was done in collaboration with Evil Empire, to celebrate the current tour that he's on. The mixtape, titled "Evil Empire French Montana Coke Boys Tour" features all the brand new jams from French and Co. New tracks include Party Ain't A Party, Makin Love To The Money, You, I Shot Ya, Inner City Coke Blues, Affirmative Action, You & Me, Gettin High, and more. If you have never checked out French Montana, definitely give him a listen. He is one of the hardest spitting on the East Coast right now, and his beats are ferocious.

T.I. The King Is Back

T.I. mixtapes have been consistently hard over the past few years. From his classic Down With The King with DJ Drama to the RnB collabo one with New Music Cartel, to the ones he dropped prior to going to prison, T.I. has been dropping fire for some time now. Every year he grows tremendously as an artist, and his name has become one of hip-hop's elite.

The newest T.I. mixtape is titled "T.I.-The King Is Back". This one features all of his newer jams as of late. New joints include Get Back with Chris Brown, Bet I Bust with B.O.B., I'm Back, Crazy, Road To The Riches, Whatcha Saying Tip, She Got It, Got Your Back, and many more. My favorite is the song "Don't Forget", that he did with Mary J. Blige right before he got locked up. It tells the tale of how rough it is to be away, how girls cheat while their man is locked up, and how most people live by the motto "outta sight, outta mind". Just a real-ass song. Unfortunately, T.I. was recently sent back to jail for smoking weed in Los Angeles.

DJ Cool Breeze Bun B Return Of The Don

Of all the southern rappers, Bun B is easily in my top 3. Bun B mixtapes always show Bun simply killing his competition. He raps with such finesse and art, and yet he never gets upset or over-rowdy. Instead, it sounds as if Bun is just sitting down in an easy chair in the booth and crushing all of his competitors who sound as if they're in there yelling and jumping around. Bun was one half of the legendary UGK, alongside Pimp C (RIP!), and Bun has perfected his craft over the years.

The newest Bun B mixtape is brought to you courtesy of DJ Cool Breeze. Titled "Bun B-Return Of The Don", this one brings you the newest material from the Underground King himself. New tracks include Money Over Bitches, I Need, Get Touched, Trill, Just Love Me, Imma Bad Guy, Everytime I Come Around, When I Want To, Guess Who's Back, I Can't Stay, So Close So Far, and more. Bun B never lets me down. I have never heard him spit a weak verse, even on the occasional unknown southern rappers cameo on a song, Bun still comes harder than anyone else. Check out the remix of Killer Mike's "Re-Akshon" where Bun outshines Bonecrusher, Killer Mike, and even T.I. himself. The King rests....

DJ Cool Breeze Drake Young Money Marvel 2

Drake mixtapes are kinda a big deal. This is one of the absolute best examples ever of an artist using mixtapes to their full advantage. Drake built a maniacal, insane following of the buzz of his mixtapes, and when the album dropped it's sales skyrocketed right away due to the already insane buzz that Drake had built off the mixtapes. Drake really brings something new and different to the game, and he is definitely a breath of fresh air amongst all the wanna-be thugs and killers.

The newest Drake mixtape comes to you courtesy of DJ Cool Breeze. Titled "Drake-Young Money Marvel Part 2", this one is all of Drake's brand new post-album songs. New cuts featured here include Everything Did, I Wanna Tell Everybody, We Don't Believe You, Come Closer, Just Like You, Celebration, Give You More, Love Love, You The Shit, and more. Instrumentals mixtapes are always a breath of fresh air. Many times people get tired of hearing rappers talk about the same old stuff: jewels, girls, cars, etc. It's nice sometimes to just get the straight beats with no vocals. That's where the instrumentals mixtapes come in. They provide all the songs you know, minus the rapping/singing. They are also good for all you aspiring rappers who wanna spit over a hot beat.

Nicki Minaj mixtapes have done amazing things for her career. From her first mixtapes she dropped with Lil Wayne and Fendi, to the official Beam Me Up Scotty mixtape, all the way to her current slew of mixtapes, Ms. Minaj has steadily built her buzz and fan base while dropping hit after hit.

Snatchatape Superstar Jay Stack Bundles Salute Me The Lost Tapes

Stack Bundles mixtapes have become legendary since his unfortunate passing at such a young age. If you're not familiar with Stack Bundles, he was close with Jim Jones, Max B, and part of the Byrdgang squad. Stack Bundles was a phenomenal rapper, and his promising career was cut short way too early. His work on the Riot Squad mixtapes and the DJ Drama Jim Jones "7 Day Theory" mixtape showed his impressive verbal skills.

The newest Stack Bundles mixtape, "Salute Me-The Lost Tapes", features all unheard gems from Stack, dropping with perfect timing to coincide with the anniversary of his death. New tracks include Up and Down, Salute Me, It's On Now, That Nigga, I Don't Know What You Gone Do, Dirt On A Record, Throw It Up, and more. Snatchatape Superstar Jay 50 Cent Nobody Likes Me

50 Cent is one artist that really understands the use of mixtapes to build his career and use them as a vehicle to create a buzz. 50 Cent mixtapes were how he got started in the game. He enlisted the help of DJ Whoo Kid and started to drop the first few (No Mercy No Fear, 50 Cent Is The Future, God's Plan) and build the buzz that soon after had people fiending for his "Get Rich Or Die Trying" album. From then on, 50 Cent has consistently dropped mixtape after mixtape and kept the streets fed in between albums.

The newest 50 Cent mixtape is with Snatchatape and Superstar Jay, titled "50 Cent-Nobody Likes Me". This one features a bunch of 50 Cent exclusives and hard-to-find gems. Tracks included are You Should Be Dead, They Burn Me, In God We Trust, Attack Mode, 50 Bars, The Invitation, Piece By Piece, and The Bomb, as well as a classic DJ Clue Freestyle and Who I Rep With featuring Nas. Underworld Supremacy Streets Is Watching

One of my favorite types of mixtape are the 4-disc sets. Many of them are 3 cds and one dvd, and they are so filled with heat that they are almost too much to take in at once. I usually have to listen to them over a couple day period. They don't drop too often, but when they do they are always bangers.

The newest 4-disc set is "Underworld Supremacy-Streets Is Watching". This one features all the brand newest jams, coupled with a dvd containing all the newest music videos. Cds have new songs from Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Drake, Gucci, Outkast, Kanye, Plies, Cam'ron, Pimp C, Boosie, Jim Jones, Yo Gotti, and many more. The Dvd has Birdman's brand new "Loyalty" video, plus Em's "I Love The Way You Lie", my jam "It Ain't About The Money" with Fat Joe and Trey Songz (Banger!!!), the Hello, Good Morning remix video with Dirty Money, Diddy, Ross, Nicki Minaj, and T.I. and tons more videos. 60 videos in total, and 60 tracks on the discs, this one is perfect for the long road trip.

Flowmasters

Mixtapes are always a good bet. Especially the 4-disc sets. They are always at a good price (between 9.99 and 13.99) and they feature tons and tons of material. Some of them are artist specific, some are all brand new songs, and some feature a dvd with the newest videos, too.

A new 4-disc set that is a little different is "Flowmasters". This one features only freestyles, and from everyone in the game. Rappers included are Bun B, Slim Thug, Pimp C, Lil Boosie, Waka Flocka, OJ Da Juiceman, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Yo Gotti, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Jay-Z, French Montana, Lil Flip, Remy Ma, Big Boi, Cassidy, Paul Wall, Crime Mob, Fabolous, Snoop Dogg, The Game, Young Jeezy, Chamillionaire, Rick Ross, G-Unit, and tons more. These sets are just ludicrous. Also included on top of the 3 cds jammed full of freestyles is a dvd of all rappers freestyling. The dvd includes Lil Wayne, Lil Flip, Bun B, Chamillionaire, Mike Jones, Jeezy, Young Buck, Busta Rhymes, Xzibit, Papoose, and many more. You cannot go wrong with this one. Definitely something not available in any store. Joints like these are why I love mixtapes.

Young Jeezy White America

Young Jeezy mixtapes are always a good bet. Jeezy never wastes time with small talk or weak club hits, but rather he goes in fiercely on every track and achieves a level of rowdiness seldom heard in rap. Ever since his first classic album "Thug Motivation 101" dropped, Jeezy instantly became a rap superstar and a member of hip-hop's elite. Since then, Jeezy has dropped multiple albums and countless mixtapes to become one of the biggest names in southern rap.

The newest Young Jeezy mixtape is titled "Young Jeezy-White America". This special 4-disc set features tons of Young Jeezy exclusives, hits, club bangers, street anthems, and much more. With 67 tracks in total, this is definitely one for your collection. As we impatiently await "Thug Motivation 103", this one should easily keep you sated in the meantime. Standouts include Last Laugh, Amen, Handle Your Bizness, Jizzle, Insane, Problem, Choppa In Da Paint, Always Strapped remix with Lil Wayne, and so many more.

Bun B Legendary

Bun B is one of the absolute greatest rappers in the game. As one half of the classic group UGK, as well as his astonishing solo career, Bun just kills every track he gets on. I have heard him on nameless rappers' songs and he even kills it on there. He doesn't know how to not spit hard. He has done a bunch of Bun B mixtapes, and they are always lyrically untouchable. I recently watched a UGK dvd that was made before Pimp C passed away (R.I.P. The Pimp!) and Pimp C was saying that Bun B was the coldest rapper from the South, and that he had 100 thousand dollars on Bun destroying any other rapper head-to-head.

The newest Bun B mixtape is a special 4 disc set, titled "Bun B-Legendary", which is a fitting title to describe Bun's stature in the rap game. This set features tons of new, classic, and exclusive Bun B material, with the total song tally at 110 songs! This features hits, unheard remixes, mixtape classics, album bangers, and much more. This is the definitive Bun, and proves why so many Southern rappers refer to him as the Underground King of the South.

DJ Kokolo Let's Go Party 3

Party mixtapes are always a fan favorite. They are something good to have for when your friends come over and you want to get the mood going and get people fired up. Most party mixtapes feature new and older crowd favorites mixed together with various remixes, DJ scratching, etc.

DJ Kokolo just dropped the third volume in his super popular series, titled "Let's Go Party 3". This one is a classic example of a great party mixtape. Laying brand new joints like "Go Insane" by Drake and "Dynamite"(remix) from Taio Cruz right up against classic hits like "Ante Up" by M.O.P. and "Baby By Me" by 50 Cent, the party just keeps rolling. The mixture of reggae and latin music has gained more and more fans by the day, and the exposure to artists like Daddy Yankee has made the music reach the ears of larger amounts of people. Of all of the DJ's doing Reggaeton mixtapes, DJ Jamsha is one of the best. He is consistently dropping strong titles, and his stuff always sells out ultra fast.
